gmSo much for General Motors being “deeply sorry.” Lawyers for the automotive giant on Wednesday claimed the company should not have to face lawsuits about safety issues in cars made before it filed for bankruptcy protection in 2009.

These safety issues the company believes it is not liable for include the faulty ignition switch tied to 30 deaths and a recall of 2.6 million cars. The company faces roughly 130 lawsuits over accidents and lost vehicle value. Read more.
