Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will have eight months added to his nineteen-month prison sentence for corruption after the Supreme Court in Yerushalayim rejected his appeal regarding one of the corruption counts.
The 70-year-old Olmert was prime minister from 2006 to 2009. He is now an inmate at Maasiyahu Prison near Tel Aviv, where he is in a VIP ward because of his possession of sensitive state secrets.
Olmert was sent to jail for a pay-for-play type scheme with a luxury housing project developer.
