Oops: Palin Calls North Korea a US Ally

north-koreaSarah Palin is drawing criticism from around the world after declaring that the United States has to stand with “our North Korean allies.”

Palin’s gaffe, made Wednesday during an interview on Glenn Beck’s syndicated radio show, was quickly corrected by her host. But it drew immediate fire from liberal bloggers, who cited it as an example of the 2008 vice presidential candidate’s lack of foreign policy expertise.

Newspapers in Asia and Europe are repeating the criticism. The Times of India says Palin “did it again,” while London’s Daily Mail says she “may want to brush up on her geography.”

The conservative U.S. website The Weekly Standard came to Palin’s defense, pointing out that “she correctly identified North Korea as our enemy literally eight seconds before the mix-up.”

  1. So silly. Everyone who doesnÂ’t use a teleprompter can make such a mistake. We all do.

Lets just remember that by her first big speech her teleprompter malfunctioned and it was a very successful speech. On the other hand, when O’s prompter malfunctioned at a small speech with few in attendance he umed and bumbed his way through..

  2. being a politician is difficult and cunning.sarah palin has a lot of growing up to do if she wishes the role of the president. she has a lot of credentials but needs presidential flair. she has time to learn and become an effective president . the interests of the state
are her priorities and she is learning to present them. give her some time and she will become a good candidate.

  3. When Obama refers to the “57 States” or VP Biden makes one of his famous gaffes as he does on a regular basis then the media tries to bury it. But when Sarah Palin has a slip of the tongue the liberal media is all over her.

Those left wingers treat Republicans as badly as they treat Orthodox Jews!

  4. A person who would so dearly love to be elected President of the United States of America, and who knows that her every publicly uttered word will be noted and analyzed, just cannot afford to make such elementary and puerile mistakes.

This latest gaffe merely reinforces worldwide public feeling that she is merely a minor and insignificant local Alaskan political hack.

  5. I am a conservative, but all the same, I’d like to mention that Sarah Palin is an idiot with minimal intelligence. I think McCain’s choice of her as a running partner was not only an egregious moral mistake, but cost him the election in the long run as well.
