Over 22,000 Bugaboo Strollers Recalled After Reports of Brakes Failing

bugabooA California company has voluntarily recalled 22,500 Bugaboo Bee strollers after receiving 121 reports of brakes failing, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has said. The strollers, distributed by Bugaboo North America, were sold at juvenile product stores nationwide, and online, between August 2007 and April 2009 for about $530. They were made in Taiwan. One or both sides of the brakes could fail, causing the stroller to roll away on an incline, the CPSC said. No injuries have been reported.The affected models have the item code 580210 on the label on the seat back, and the code 50100 on the label on the plastic support under the seat. “Bugaboo Bee” is printed on the left side of the seat.

The CPSC said Consumers should stop using the strollers and order contact Bugaboo to get a free repair kit and bracket. To order the kit, Call 800-460-2922 or go here.

  1. funny people wasted a tremendous amount of money on this item. It could of been used to th thousands among us that need help right now.

  2. The steering wheels are next. The way they are made they often slip out of the babies hands. Also they could use a better cupholder.

    This is stupid! Nobody should be leaving a stroller parked on a hill.
