Over 8,000 Police Officers Stationed In Yerushalayim for Pope Visit

yerushalayimIsrael Police announced that over 8,000 policemen are working in close coordination with Italian Police to secure Ben-Gurion Airport and Yerushalayim during Pope Francis’s historic two day visit to the country today and tomorrow.

According to police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, regular patrol units, special patrol units, undercover units and helicopter units have canvassed all areas the pope is scheduled to visit, including Mount Scopus, Yad Vashem, and Yerushalayim’s Old City. Read more here.

  1. Here comes the pope. Overtime for all the men who have to worry about going home at night. You think its a blessing? Ask the police if they like being at increased risk on the weekend. Dismal friendship.
