Pakistan has postponed a high-level meeting with the U.S. on Sunday without explanation, although Pakistan is said to be reviewing its relationship with the U.S. after a drone strike killed a top Taliban leader.
The Pakistani government denounced the killing of Hakimullah Mehsud, the head of the al Qaeda-affiliated Pakistani Taliban, and three others on Friday.
Pakistani Taliban fighters vowed revenge as they quietly buried him in a secret location. Mehsud took over as the head of the Pakistani Taliban in 2009, and is believed to have masterminded the 2012 attack on a jail in northwest Pakistan that freed 400 prisoners as well as the attack on a Pakistani naval base.
