LYNCH-CHEVRONFaiz Abu Hamadiah, 51, of Chevron says he has been receiving death threats ever since he gave shelter to five American Chassidishe yeshiva bochurim who were attacked by a Palestinian mob on Thursday after they got lost en route to the Meoras Hamachpeilah in Chevron.

Hamadiah told Israeli Channel 2 TV that people threatened to “burn his house down, or cut off his head.”
“I’m not a hero; this is what every person should have done. I did it because I’m a human being,” he said. “I did the right thing. We need to live here together.”

  1. It would seem to me proper for a collection to be made on behalf of this hero to show our appreciation for his heroism and to allow him sanctuary in Israel as well.

  2. If he lives in Chevron then isn’t he an Israeli man? Or specifically, an Israeli Arab man? Why use a false label for someone who wouldn’t use it himself?

  3. We should send the Arab man a load of support letters as well as possibly financial help, to protect himself and/or relocate as other commentors said, but even more so, to enjoy, so that him and his family can see our deep gratitude, that righteous people deserve.

I would do, if someone posts details.

  4. No, the Arab part of Chevron is not Israel, the residents do not have Israeli ID or residency! They are “Palestinian” citizens, green license plates. It’s called, IIRC, Area B – Palestinian local rule and Israeli security overall (as needed).
