Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Shabbos that he is ready to work with President-elect Donald Trump to reach a solution to the conflict with Israel, the AP reports.
“We want to emphasize our willingness to work with the newly-elected American administration… to achieve peace… based on a two-state solution,” Abbas said during an event marking the anniversary of his Fatah party.
Abbas, who has allowed a culture of terrorism to grow amongst Palestinians under his watch, thanked the US for its UN abstention vote last week, which allowed the Security Council to adopt a shameful resolution declaring Israeli settlements illegal.
