palin1Sarah Palin says she could defeat President Barack Obama if she seeks the White House in 2012. In an excerpt of an ABC News interview released Wednesday, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee says she’s considering a presidential run. When asked directly if she thought she could defeat Obama, the former Alaska governor replied, “I believe so.”An Associated Press-GfK poll earlier this month found Palin the most polarizing of the potential 2012 Republican presidential candidates. The poll says 46 percent of Americans view her favorably, 49 percent unfavorably, and 5 percent don’t know enough about her to form an opinion.

Yet among adults who identify themselves as Republicans or GOP-leaning independents, 79 percent view her favorably.

  1. why are you constantly publishing articles about SP ?
you are misleading Jews into the same thoughtsa that the secular pressi misleading the general population
Rav Schach was a proponent of an English frum newspaper to help Jews not harm their minds into thinking about the world in a corrupt way

  2. Why does the media waste time with her. It makes us look like idiots to the rest of the world. Imagine a president Palin. What a mockery that would be.

  3. Jorgen and Yankel (one and the same?) – what is the problem? The mass (hysteria) media malign her? That should mean something deeper than your superficial remarks (which sound like a journalist on a failing TV network.) [Why would I be so ready to bet that you have one in the house?]

If the libs can literally worship O at election time, and pooh-pooh Reagan, then take your cue from that.

Brains is not the sole requirement for leadership needed. Moral commitment to a focused moral-compass is. Jeremiah Wright has it wrong. Palin lives as a believer in a Creator lives. Not a popular lifestyle nowadays – and she could effect change in that. How will that be bad for Yidddisheh kinder? Will she squeeze Yiden in Eretz Yisrael?

  4. well, lets see…..
OB’s approval rating is SSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOO LOW that its not really a big challenge at this point.
We have friends in public schools which are mainly black teens and they say they are very angry at OB.
So what is the big challenge here?

  5. This thread is not a comment on SP.

It is an exceptionally startling commentary on “The Affects of The Mass Media” on the readers (commentators only?) of Matzav.

Who, you SP bashers, do you think led the landslide victory of Conservatism in the recent election? Look at the facts and figures. [Unless you think Conservative is bad for the Jews. It was, half a century ago. Today, Liberalism, with its Minuss and Kefirah are our Problem].]

Ask a Reform Jew (or a gay person) their opinion, and go the opposite way.

But I err. Apparently there are many Reform Jews (or Neturei Karta?) commenting here. Pro abortion, strict zoning (anti shul) laws. And of course, friends of the Palestinian oppressed. Go Palin bashers, go.

  6. To Laaniyas Dayti: One can have reservations about Palin and not be michutz lamachane.
Check out Rabbi Bloom’s column in the letters section in last week’s Yated, too. (Please note, I am NOT implying Rabbi Bloom is anti-Palin. Just a comment on how, in any election, there are MANY factors to consider.)

  7. I would not stake the next presidential election on her. She was an interesting vice presidential candidate and gave a sorely-needed boost to John McCain’s ratings. She is a charismatic orator. She is gutsy and outspoken, but she is a “maverick” for sure, and more importantly she does *not* have the smarts. Be honest with yourselves.
Do you want a NORMAL republican president? Try Mike Huckabee. (And stay away from the Newt!)
If she gets the nomination we can kiss the white house goodbye for four-more-years.

  8. #9 a couple of points:
    – nope not the same as jorgen, theres a chance that more than one person realizes how inept and uneducated Palin is, and/or views that as a bad thing
    – The problem is, not only isnt she intelligent, but she got a nice chunk of the population viewing intelligence as a weaknesst
    – I am commenting on a blog of course my commetn is superficial
    – Youd be ready to bet because Its obvious that I am more knowledgable, though you would lose that bet
    – The rest of your comment made even less sense than the beggining, you realize Jeremiah Write is a pastor, right ie he too believes in a Creator.
    – who said it would be bad for yiddishe kinder? (It would but i didnt say that) I hope she runs, I actually miss her, i get a big kick out of her

  9. Well said #13. Palin will win, which will be very good for us.

“It makes us look like idiots to the rest of the world. Imagine a president Palin. What a mockery that would be.”

Sorry, thats what O has done for us. Look what happened to him, again, durring his escape trip last week. He was mocked and ignored, and further weekend Americas global position
