palinSarah Palin, the unofficial Tea Party candidate for president, told 85 GOP freshmen Congressmen in an open letter, “Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, not a settlement.” Writing on the Fox News website, the 2008 vice presidential candidate for the Republican party advised the new legislators, “You can stand with allies like Israel, not criticize them. You can let the President know what you believe… and stick to the principles that propelled your campaigns.”

He other comments on foreign policy regarded Iran and the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. She urged the Republican newcomers to “stick to our principles: strong defense, free trade, nurturing allies, and steadfast opposition to America’s enemies. We are the most powerful country on earth and the world is better off because of it.”

“Our president does not seem to understand this. If we withdraw from the world, the world will become a much more dangerous place.”

Palin, who visited Israel during her campaign with 2008 Republican presidential candidate John McCain, called on the new Republicans to “push President Obama to finish the job right in Iraq and get the job done in Afghanistan; otherwise we who are war-weary will forever question why America’s finest are sent overseas to make the ultimate sacrifice with no clear commitment to victory from those who send them.”

Without mentioning a military attack on Iran, she said everyone “should be prepared to stand with the president against Iran’s nuclear aspirations using whatever means necessary to ensure the mullahs in Tehran do not get their hands on nuclear weapons. And you can stand with the Iranian people who oppose the tyrannical rule of the clerics and concretely support their efforts to win their freedom – even if the president does not.”

The Tea Party, which has instilled an old-fashioned patriotic and anti-big government zeal into the Republican party, has called for cuts in foreign aid. Palin advised the new Congressmen not to cut the defense budget when it comes to facing “so many threats – from Islamic extremists to a nuclear Iran to a rising China. As Ronald Reagan said, ‘We will always be prepared, so we may always be free.’

Palin’s open letter focused on undoing the “damage that has been done in the last two years,” since the election of U.S. President Barack Obama. She reminded the legislators that the Republican party campaigned on promises to cut government spending and repeal the health care law that President Obama pushed through Congress.

  1. Well Let’s read former Presidentt GW Bush’s book Decision points and see that that Bush writes that he was presiding over Olmert’s internationalization of East Jerusalem offer to Abbas which Bush backed.

Remember, it is Bush who wrote thr roadmap in 2003 and reiterated it all in 2007 and then in 2008 when he authored the phrase ” no natrual growth” and applied it to all settlements in the post 67 borders.

Without Bush’;s penning of the NO NATURAL GROWTH” requirement and re-iterating it at Annapolis, Obama would have never had to deal with such a ridiculous demand from the Arabs.

Bush said at Annapolis: Bush: “There should be an end to the occupation that began in 1967. The agreement must establish Palestine as a homeland for the Palestinian people, just as Israel is a homeland for the Jewish people. These negotiations must ensure that Israel has secure, recognized, and defensible borders. And they must ensure that the state of Palestine is viable, contiguous, sovereign, and independent.”
Bush: “While territory is an issue for both parties to decide, I believe that any peace agreement between them will require mutually agreed adjustments to the armistice lines of 1949 to reflect current realities and to ensure that the Palestinian state is viable and contiguous. I believe we need to look to the establishment of a Palestinian state and new international mechanisms, including compensation, to resolve the refugee issue.” “I know Jerusalem is a tough issue. Both sides have deeply felt political and religious concerns. I fully understand that finding a solution to this issue will be one of the most difficult challenges on the road to peace, but that is the road we have chosen to walk. Security is fundamental. No agreement and no Palestinian state will be born of terror. I reaffirm America’s steadfast commitment to Israel’s security.”

George Bush just authored a book, entitled “Decision Points”, and in it he wrote at length how Olmert agreed to an internationalization of East Jerusalem and Bush was right there in agreement.
We need to ignore absurd articles from the NY Post and recognize that Obama has reiterated Bushs pisition and added nothing new. Bush knew that East Jerusalem was going to be internationalized.

  2. George Orwell is living with Orwellian Newspeak as in the novel 1984. George Bush might have backed Olmert’s positions but any comparison between George Bush, who had a warm feeling for the State and People of Israel and Abu Hussein (as the Arabs refer to Obama), who has demonstrated all over the world with his numerous vitriolic public criticisms of America’s ally, Israel, that he has no feelings, whatsoever, (see the censored article in JWR which was written by a liberal for Vanity Fair and never allowed to be published because it made this very point – Obama’s feelings are with the Palestinian people, with little or none for the State of Israel and its people.)

Obama would never had allowed the Lebanon War to continue as long as Bush did, actively hoping for a decisive Israeli victory. Obama (behind the scenes) stopped the Israeli’s from completing their mission in Gaza.

George Orwell is one of a number of rabid Democrats (look how quickly he read Bush’s book in order to gain ammunition) who are very much afraid of the Jews leaving the Democrat plantation.

  3. REGARDING COMMENT #2 I NEED TO RESPOND SINCE IT IS INDICATIVE OF HOW MASSES OF PEOPLE THROUGHOUT HISTORY LIVE IN A DREAMWORLD.

A HUGE TALMID CHACHAM, A CHAVER OF r cH KANIEVSKY SHLITA ONCE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE AN ADVISOR TO A PARTY IN A BEIS DIN. HE SAID THAT ITS KNOWN THAT WHEN THE CLAIMANT’S CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER SIDE ARE ARGUMENTS COMPLETELY ANCHORED IN THE OTHER SIDES PRESUMED MOTIVATIONS, CLAIMS ABOUT THE OTHER SIDE’S PRESUMED EMOTIONS, CLAIMS ABOUT THE OTHER SIDE’S PRESUMED PSYCHOLOGY, CLAIMS ABOUT THE OTHER SIDE’S PRESUMED PHILOSOPHICAL ATTITUDES, CLAIMS ABOUT THE OTHER SIDE’S PRESUMED INTENTIONS, …..THE CLAIMANT LWAYS LOSES. WHY? BECAUSE WHILE IT MAKES A GOOD STORY ….IT ISNT EVIDENCE OF ANYTHING BECAUSE ONCE THE OTHER SIDE ANCHORS THEIR DEFENSE ON WHAT WENT ON IN THE REAL WORLD AND NOT IN THE FLIGHTS OF FANCY OF THE CLAIMANT, THE REAL WORLD WINS.

HERE TOO, RabJayG ABOVE IN COMMENT 2 SHOWS HIMSELF THE SAME RABBLE OF THE MASSES THAT MAKE UP THE WORLD. PEOPLE WHO STRING TOGETHER ALL OF THEIR FANTASIES ABOUT THE EMOTIONS, PSYCHOLOGY, PHILOSOPHICAL ATTITUDES, INTENTIONS, OF ANOTHER, ARENT THE STUFF THAT A CLAIMANT CAN KNOW: ALL RATIONAL PEOPLE CAN GO ON IS WHAT PEOPLE DO AND THE DECISONS THEY MAKE AND WHAT POWER IN GENERAL LEADS ONE TO DO.
    WHERE THAT IS KNOWABLE
IT IS ALSO RELEVANT THAT RabJayG HAS DONE MORE IN HIS COMMENT…MORE OF WHAT THE MASSES DO IN GENERAL….LIKE THE GREEKS AND THE ROMANS AND ALL NATIONS….SO THAT THE RARE PHRASES HE PRINTS THAT ARE STATEMENTS OF FACT…THEY ARE JUST ABOUT ALL FALSE. FOR INSTANCE, rabjayg SAYS ONE STATEMENT THAT IS TECHNICALLY TRUE, BUT COMPARED TO ALL AMERICAN PRESIDENTS IS IRELEVANT. HE WRITES ” vitriolic public criticisms of America’s ally,”. WELL IN ALL ALL THAT OBAMA HAS SAID ABROAD, OBAMA HAS DONE NOTHING OF THE SORT THAT THE UNITED STATES HASNT DONE WITH REGARD TO ALL ITS ALLIES AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER WHEN ASKED A QUESTION I NTHE MIDDLE OF A PRESS CONFERENCE. BUT VITRIOLIC? NOT AT ALL, ON THE CONTRARY, THE WORSE THING THAT OBAMA HAS EVER SAID ABROAD ABOUT ISRAEL IS A RESPONSE TO A QUESTION IN A NEWS CONFERENCE ABOUT BUILDING IN THE TERRITORIES AND HIS RESPONSE WAS ” ITS NEVER HELPFUL [TO GETTING THE TWO PARTIES TO THE PEACE TALKS]. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE HAY OUT OF OBAMA NOT EXPRESSING HIS OPINION ON THAT BUT IGNORING nIXON AND kISSINGER AND rEAGAN AND hw bUSH’S ACTUAL ACTIONS AND THREATS AGAINST THE STATE OF ISRAEL GO RIGHT AHEAD- LIVE A FANTASY. IF YOU WANT TO IGNORE THAT GW AUTHORED THE u.s. POLICY OF N NATURAL GROWTH AND BACKED THE INTERNATIONALIZATION OF jERUSALEM 2 YEARS AGO , GO RIGHT AHEAD, IF YOU WANT TO IGNORE THAT GW REFUSED TO GIVE ISRAEL BUNKER BUSTERS OR ALLOWANCE TO BOMB IRAN OR THE SYRIAN REACTOR, GO RIGHT AHEAD. BUT I DONT ENVY PEOPLE WHO LIVE I NFANTASY WORLDS.
OBAMA HAS SPOKEN MILLIONS OF WORDS AND POSITONED ISRAEL WITH THE GREATEST SECURITY THE STATE OF ISRAEL HAS EVER HAD, AND THIS IS ALL THERE IS TO CRITIQUE THE PREISDENT ON?

PS: I DIDNT READ THE BOOK. WHAT IS IMPORTANT ABOUT HIS COMMENT ABOUT MY READING THE BOOK IS THAT RABjAYg NEEDED TO INVENT MORE GUESSWORK TO IMAGINE THAT I DID SOMETHING ….AND WHY? SO HE COULD DO WHAT HE INDEED DID….HE NEEDED TO MAKE AN ARGUMENT ABOUT….MY INTENTIONS AND EMOTIONS. THAT IS A STATEMENT ABOUT rabbijayg’S ABILITY TO SPEAK ABOUT THE TOPIC INSTEAD OF THE FANTASIES HE WOULD LIKE TO EXIST ABOUT THE TOPIC

DEAR READER…IF THERE IS ANYTHING TO LEARN FROM THIS, IT IS NOT TO THINK ABOUT THINGS THE WAY rabjayg DOES. TAKE NOTE,ARGUE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS IN THE WORLD

  4. Sir Eric Blair:

    1. It is quite an eyesore to read in all-caps.
    2. Give up on your Obamanian weltanschauung.
    3. Bush vs. Obama = Bonhoeffer vs. Himmler

  5. 1. Please calm down.
    2. Step out of your “party” political mind set.
    3. look at the big picture.

The US learned a BIG lesson in the 1970’s, if you want to support Israel, you will have to deal with nasty arabs to get oil. If you want to play nice with the arabs to get oil, you will have to “slap” around the Jews a little.

The US is going to do what ever it takes to keep the oil flowing, Period. If that involves adjusting the Israel policy, fine.

Israel (and all Jews) needs to remember ONE thing, our only security is from G-D. If we would only keep the Torah, G-D would take care of our enemies.
