paterson1New York State Gov. David Paterson says the way is now clear for a state Senate vote on legalizing toeivah marriage in New York. Some key legislators have tied the long awaited vote to passing a deficit reduction plan. That’s now expected to be done this week.

While the bill was passed months ago by the Assembly and has the governor’s backing, its prospects in the Senate remain uncertain.

Paterson said today that he’s confident it will pass, but he wants a debate and vote in any case to advance the cause.

Opponents like Democratic Sen. Ruben Diaz say they remain ready to fight the measure and don’t think a vote is imminent.

Democrats have a 32-30 majority in the Senate. But about a half-dozen Democrats oppose the bill. So Republican votes would be needed to reach the 32 required for approval.

  1. This is an outrage. This governor, who was elected by nobody, is actively supporting the sort of licentious legislation that caused the destruction of Sodom and Gemorrah.

All decent people, all normal people, all God-fearing people must contact all New York Senators demanding that they reject this
    stupidity and satanic evil.

    All religious people
must contact their elected officials to stop
    this nonsense.

    This deviation from God’s
law will incur divine wrath. The people
    respect for traditional family and
    observance of God’s law.

    Dr.

  2. Addendum/Correction

The people demand respect for their
traditional family values as mandated by
Almighty God in His holy Torah.
