Patience Wears Thin For Some New York Area Residents As Power Returns For Others

hurricane-sandy-nycMore New Yorkers awoke today to power being restored for the first time since Superstorm Sandy pummeled the region, but patience was wearing thin among those who have been without power for most of the week.

A widespread lack of gasoline added to the frustrations, from storm-scarred New Jersey, where rationing went into effect in the north, to parts of Connecticut.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the Defense Department will set up emergency mobile gas stations at five locations around the New York City metropolitan area to distribute free fuel with a limit of 10 gallons per person. Cars and emergency service vehicles will be able to fill up directly from the 5,000-gallon trucks.

  1. sometimes this is the only way to teach us how to appreciate everything Hashem gives us & not to take everything for granted. i.e. take something very dear away from yourself when you NEED it & then start using it again a day/week later, you will really appreciate it & also see the amazing ways the way it works etc….
    if we stop taking things for granted & show Hashem the proper hakoras hatov we owe, for everything Hashem gives us, then we will not need to lose things, for it to remind us about everything Hashem gave & continues to give us
