For the first time ever Rockland Community College, which is home to many Jewish students who from the Monsey/Spring Valley neighborhoods, has decided to be open during all Jewish holidays next year.
They have never done this before and this could potentially cause all Jewish students and faculty members to miss a month of class and work.
A petition has been made online to try and convince the administration at the school to switch to the old schedule that catered to the many Jews affiliated with the college.
