Lakewood, NJ – Keren Hakayitz kicked off its annual boys bike-a-thon season with an exciting sign up event at both Lakewood Sprinkles locations, Sprinkles Madison Ave and Todd Plaza. Over 450 boys signed up and enjoyed free ice cream, while watching a video of last year’s bike a thon. Boys received their official biking t-shirt, their bib number, a magnet and more.
Keren Hakayitz provides day camp scholarships for families in difficult circumstances. Many boys already started collecting for this important cause and boys are excited to be a part of this special event.
“My father does bike-a-thons and I was always waiting to join a boys bike-a-thon,” one participant said, “I had the best time last year and this year I’m going to raise even more money.”
One father told the bike-a-thon coordinator, “I told my kids that they should join the bike-a-thon to help Keren Hakayitz send other kids to camp because they enjoy summer day camp so much each year. I started them off with $300 each to sponsor another child’s summer.”
The actual bike-a-thon will take place on Sunday, July 17th, at 4pm. The streets around the Blue Claws stadium will be blocked off for boys to bike, earn prizes, and watch a thrilling stunt bike show. Boys can still sign up by calling 732-806-5843, and can receive their t-shirt and other bike-a-thon materials at the actual bike-a-thon event.
