bris-of-pm-netanyahus-grandson-7[Photos below.] Yesterday, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu celebrated the bris of a grandson, born to his daughter and son-in-law, Noa and Daniel Roth. The rach hanimol, Dovid Roth, is the second son of the Roths and the second grandchild of the prime minister. The bris was held at Yesivas Aish Hatorah in the Old City of Yerushalayim across from the Kosel.

While the prime minister is not religious, his daughter, Noa, is a baalas teshuvah who returned to her roots some years ago and is raising her family al pi derech haTorah.

The sandek was Rav Avigdor Nebenzahl, rov of the Old City of Yerushalayim. The mohel was Rav Chaim Moshe Weisberg, who performed the bris of the first Roth son, Shmuel.

Prime Minister Netnayahu was honored with amidah l’brachos/sandek me’umad.

  1. amazing! his son won the tanach competition some years ago.

Moishele as mohel , Harav Nevenzal shlita sandek. That’s a serious lineup

  2. I guess he got sandikuis last time already, because he’s the Zeide. It’s a shame the rach hanimoil’s zeide is a am haretz, but the elte elte zeide was apparently a big talmid chuchim so he’s getting real nachas buruch hashem.

  3. #3

Mr. Netanyahu is a descendant of the Vilna Gaon. Btw, he probably knows more than you do, sir – don’t call him an “am ha’aretz”.

  4. Mazel tov, mazel tov! Teddy Kollak supposidly also had a son who became a Baal Teshuva. Nu Haliviy we should see: Vehashev lev avos al banim vebonim al avosum. Aish is doing great work!

  5. #3 – I’m sure if you didn’t call someone an “am haretz, your own alte zeide would have nachas from you too. Why do you feel a need to take a wonderful simcha and use it to take a shtuch at someone?

  6. Netanyahu is an einekel of the Vilna Gaon. Netanyahu is a patriot, and so are his father, brothers (one got killed in the line of duty), and his friends. So, have respect for the man.

  7. #6 and #7

Thank you so much (esp. #6) for your wonderful remark. I am so hurt when I read comments like #3. B”H for you. Know that you made an awesome Kiddush Hashem today by showing me that frum people are not represented by such a negative comment.

To call “Bibi” an “Am Ha’Aretz” is “amaratzus”. His state of religiosity is a reflection – I’m positive of this crushing, bitter Golus. I would almost guarantee that he will be learning Gemara and keeping kul HaTorah kulah – with the coming of Moshiach.

  8. #6 and #4 , There is nothing derogetory about calling netanuahu and Am haaretz. Thats what he is. He is not Shomrei Torah Umitzvos so by default he is an am haaretz. Its not his fault but we need to be honest and refer to him that way. Please dont portray him as a godol beyisrael.

  9. we need to reach
out, not call people, especially heroes of the jewish people amei aretz- he is a man
under great pressure- we need to encourage
and work with him to stand up to the nations
and to the capos amongst our people, not
belittle him.he is a patriot, a highly intellegent
person and his lineage is greater than 99.9%
    of those who criticize him.

  10. Btw , “amaratzus” refers to “not knowing”,ie literally not being knowledgeable. Its not about level of observance – since your so in the know.
