Photos: Rabbi Mendy Carlebach Assists in Arranging Shivah Visit to Satmar for Lakewood Rosh Yeshiva

rav-kotler-menachem-avel-in-monroe[Photos below.] On the last day of the shivah following the passing of the Satmar Rebbetzin, Rebbetzin Pesel Leah Teitelbaum a”h, Rav Aryeh Malkiel Kotler, rosh yeshiva of Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, NJ, landed in New York after returning from Eretz Yisroel. The Lakewood rosh yeshiva wished to make it in time to be menachem avel Rav Aharon Teitelbaum of Satmar, a son of the Rebbetzin, before the shivah would be over that morning. The distance from the airport to Rav Aharon Teitelbaum’s home in Monroe, however, was very far.

Close associates of Rav Kotler contacted Rabbi Mendy Carlebach of Lubavitch in South Brunswick and asked him if he could be of assistance.

“They asked me if I could used my ties within the police force to arrange for an escort for the Lakewood rosh yeshiva from the airport to the house of shivah in Kiryas Yoel,” Rabbi Carlebach told Matzav.com.

As a respected chaplain in the police force, Rabbi Carelbach succeeded in fulfilling the request, joining in the entourage to visit Rav Aharon Teitelbaum in Kiryas Yoel.

The Satmar Rebbe shlita and Rav Aryeh Malkiel Kotler shlita are very old long-time friends and admirers of each other.

Rav Malkiel Kotler with Rav Ahron Tietelbaum are very close friends so it was expected that Rav Kotler should make it to the shiva

What a beautiful Kidush Hashem! when you have three people of VERY different backgrounds and ideologies coming together to get things done. In the Zechus of this achdus, especially in the nine days (when we are encouraged to increase in Ahavas Chinam) take us out of this bitter golus, and we should “celebrate” Tisha B’av in the Beis Hamikdash Hashlishi!
