rechnitz[Photos below.] The world’s largest yeshiva, Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, held its Simchas Bais Hashoeivah Monday night with the participation of an esteemed alumnus of the yeshiva, Reb Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz of Los Angeles.

Every year, the Simchas Bais Hashoeivah features the participation of Rav Aryeh Finkel, rosh yeshiva of Mir Brachfeld; Rav Eliezer Yehudah Finkel, rosh yeshiva; Rav Yitzchak Ezrachi, the mashgiach, Rav Aharon Chodosh, and other members of the yeshiva hanhalah.

In remarks at Monday night’s Simchas Bais Hashoeivah, Reb Shlomo Yehudah Rechnitz expressed his gratitude to his rabbeim and said that he anticipates the day when avreicheim won’t have struggle as they do, taking out loans just to get by.

“I look forward to the day when the yungeleit won’t have to run from gemach to gemach and will be able to learn b’nachas ubeharchovas hadaas,” he said.

“I look forward to the day when the yeshiva will be able to double the chalukah to all the yungeleit,” he added. “As an ois, I will pay double the chalukah for the month of Cheshvan. I know this is not something that’s going to happen for a while, but we at least have to show what our goals are and where we eventually want to be.”

Mr. Rechnitz’s remarks were responded to with thunderous applause.
