Plesner Report: Chareidim Who Don’t Serve Will Be Charged

yochanan-plesnerMr. Yochanan Plesner, who heads the Plesner Keshev Committee chairman, has stated that in his opinion, 80 percent of chareidim should take part in national and military service by 2016. He added that personal sanctions should be http://matzav.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wordpress/img/trans.gifimposed on those chareidim who do not serve.

Plesner’s report came after the Keshev Committee which was given the job of finding a replacement for the Tal Law was disbanded.

While Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu disbanded the committee earlier this week following the quitting of its members in protest of several issues, Netanyahu’s aides say that he will still use the recommendations as the basis for a new army law regarding chareidim

The Plesner recommendation would apply to the chareidi population and subsequently to the Israeli-Arab population.

Those who don’t complete military or civil service by age 23 will become ineligible for kollel stipends and will also forfeit property tax and housing benefits.

Permanent student exemptions should also be severely limited, according to Plesner’s recommendations.

  1. Isn’t this a racist remark ? What about the non chariedim who don’t serve? They non chariedim are much more then the chariedim. Why is he choosing to apply the law of criminal files only against the chariedim? shouldn’t this law apply equal to every body the same?

  2. Under these current conditions, there is NO chiyuv to live in “Israel”! A “Jewish” (lol) Government that attacks the Torah & its values is something that should be shunned. It says in seforim that the treiffa medina (Erev Rav)has to fall before Moshiach can come. This is happening as we blog.

  3. Most of the draft dodgers today in Israel are the ‘leftists’ who feel no connection to EY and don’t even know their history or that they’re Jews or why their parents’ made aliya years ago. This is plain old fashioned ‘chareidi’ bashing and a way of either getting them out of the country or secularizing them.

If you genuinely believe all that nonsense you are even more stupid than I thought.

  5. number 2 has got a good point.
and all those who aren`t shomer Torah we-mitzwot or commit other averot in eretz israel should be kicked out of the country.
i mean, if they want to sell this country as a jewish state then it should be realy jewish and not just by name.
we need a real jewish state without all this trefa
those who don`t feel like beeing shomer Torah should just move to a place like themselves and not pollute eretz israel.
