shomrim-shooting[Video below.] Police have identified the man accused of shooting four members of the Shomrim neighborhood patrol in Boro Park. David Flores opened fire when the Shomrim patrol approached him last night on a street in Borough Park, police said. The Shomrim is a licensed, unarmed community group that works with police to keep order in several Brooklyn neighborhoods.

According to the group, they had received information that the man had exposed himself to children in the area.

When confronted Thursday, police say the man got out of the car and started running. Group members forced him to the ground when he opened fire. Flores, who was shot in the arm, may be charged with public lewdness as well as attempted murder.
