An investigation into the incident indicated that the vehicle reached a checkpoint in Benyamin. The police officer signaled for the vehicle to stop for a routine search and the car slowed down for a number of meters, before speeding up in the direction of the police officers.
One of the police officers fired at the car but he continued driving and continued for about another hundred meters before stopping beside the side of the road. The driver fled the scene on foot. The police and IDF continue to conduct searches for him and at the same time, they examined the suspects’ vehicle. The circumstances of the incident are still not clear.
