During an emergency meeting, Israel’s cabinet authorized police to seal off “parts of Yerushalayim” and impose a curfew in certain areas in an effort to crack down on a string of violent attacks.
Many of the recent attackers were from Arab areas in Yerushalayim.
The new security measures also included deploying soldiers to support police as well as revoking “the permanent residency rights of terrorists” and confiscating “property of terrorists who perpetrate attacks,” Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu said.
The orders come after three Jews were killed and more than 20 injured in shooting and stabbing attacks in Yerushalayim and central Israel. Read more.
