Nearly one in 10 Americans say it is “acceptable” to hold neo-Nazi views, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll.

Among 1,014 respondents surveyed in the poll, 9 percent said neo-Nazi views are acceptable, with 83 percent calling such views “unacceptable” and 8 percent saying they had no opinion on the matter.

The survey found that 13 percent of Republicans and 17 percent of respondents supporting President Donald Trump deemed neo-Nazi views as acceptable.

The poll was conducted in English and Spanish via landline and cellphone calls from Aug. 16-20. The survey comes shortly after the violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., where a 32-year-old woman was killed and 19 were injured when a neo-Nazi supporter rammed his vehicle into a crowd of counter-protesters.

  1. Thank the media far right and the church and the basement. The young have no sense of friends, health or faith.

They fill their basements with glory and never will speak to you.

Glad esteem and never a fate.

  2. Misleading article. Perhaps the fault is in the poll itself. The question was whether or not it’s acceptable to HOLD those views, not whether or not those views themselves are acceptable. Big difference. For example, I don’t consider the views of the reformed movement the least bit acceptable, while simultaneously accepting that individuals have the right to hold differently.
