It’s never too early to speculate about presidential politics.
A new USA McClatchy-Marist Poll took a look at potential outcomes between possible candidates, including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden on the Democratic side and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio from the GOP.
In the poll of registered voters, Clinton fares well against names like Rubio, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul. In fact, among the presumptive candidates, only Christie runs competitively against Clinton, according to the poll.
In a potential 2016 race between Christie and Clinton, 46 percent of voters back Clinton compared to 43 percent for Christie, with 11 percent undecided. Clinton has her largest margin against Bush – 54 to 38 percent with eight percent of voters undecided.
When it comes to Joe Biden, the vice president is only eclipsed by Gov. Christie.
Christie beats Biden 46 to 43 percent, according to the poll, with 11 percent undecided.
Biden’s largest lead amongst possible Republican candidates comes against Sen. Rubio – 53 to 39 percent with eight percent undecided.
While more candidates are certain to enter the race, the Director of The Marist College Institute for Public Opinion Dr. Lee M. Miringoff said the “matchups underscore the message from 2012.”
“The GOP still has work to do to get ready for the next presidential go around,” Miringoff said.

We must face the fact that we are no longer living in a White majority nation. The smart folks are already hiding most of their assets overseas to avoid the coming confiscation of wealth which always occurs when a nation’s “complection” changes.
The Republicans won’t nominate Christie. He has supported raising taxes, he compromises with Democrats, he defended a Muslim judge against bigots, he loves Bruce Springsteen, he supports same gender civil unions, he isn’t beholden to corporate special interests, his campaign for governor was funded by tax dollars, and he doesn’t think Barack Obama is evil incarnate. Any ONE of these would make him intolerable to the Republican base.
