This Pesach, Jonathan Pollard celebrated his first Seder since entering jail 30 years ago.

It was a dream come true for Pollard, who was released on “mandatory” parole on November 20, 2015, after serving in prison since 1985 for spying for Israel.

His parole conditions mandate that he wear a GPS device and keep to a 7 p.m. curfew at his home in New York.

He and his wife, Esther, were alone at home for the Pesach Seder.

“It was wonderful,” he reportedly said. “I will remember it for the rest of my life.”

Pollard was not frum before he entered prison, so it was his first Seder as a frum Jew.

  1. wow ! this is real freedom. when i was a kid we had a guest for Pesach, a Russian Jewish boxer who escaped Communist Russia and encountered much anti semitism in his career and when we got up to Vehi Sheamda , he started crying . he was not religious but i never forgot that experience in every Pesach since

  2. Why is mandatory in quotes?

Meaning to say its not mandatory. Why would that be?

Or is that just someone who has no idea how to use the English language correctly?
