[Photos below.] Thanks to the generosity of a group of visionaries, Lakewood Cheder will benefit from dinner contributions twice as much as they will cost you. At a pre-Dinner meeting Monday night, honoree R’ Aharon Stefansky, who hosted the event, R’ Itche Rosenbaum, and R’ Mordy Schron surprised the attendees with an unusual announcement.
“Any money pledged or raised by the Lakewood Cheder/Bais Faiga parent body from now until the Dinner will be matched, raised or donated, dollar for dollar, by the Vaad Hacheder together with the honorees. The matching offer has a cap of $500,000 and will be in effect until the Dinner.”
“That figure is impressive, and it is also realistically attainable,” says Moshe Dovid Perlstein, one of the campaign coordinators. With a combined parent and grandparent body exceeding 5,000, the number can be well within reach. With the positive energy infused in the current campaign, reaching our goal of $500,000 is a strong likelihood.”
The Cheder is counting on you to call in your ads as soon as possible. And they’re not just counting on you once. During this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you’ll be counted twice. But the pledge has to be made before the Dinner.
