President Donald Trump announced today that he will be directing the State Department to relocate the American embassy in Tel Aviv to Yerushalayim, which he declared the “undivided capital of Israel.”
Trump also called on the Arab world to unite against terror and bloodshed, saying it was time to move towards a more peaceful era in the Middle East.
“I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel,” Trump said. “After more than two decades of waivers, we are no closer to a lasting peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.”
U.S. allies have consistently warned Trump against the move, and many have expressed fears that the recognition and an embassy relocation to the disputed holy city could spark violence in the region.

Say what? He specifically said that Jerusalem will remain divided, as it is currently, until both sides can agree on borders.
I’m not so sure I understand what all the rumpus is about.
1-On one hand trump is keeping his word, kol hakovod, (no sarcassiom)I’m sure he will get שכר in שמים for this כבוד he is giving to the jewish people, but the question remains at what costs. Will Israel now be forced into some position, like making some unhealthy agreement because of it.
2-in all realty this is only a formality. The consulate already sits in Yerushalayim (west) and does everything the embassy in Tel-aviv does so for all intents and purpose they simply need to switch signs of the 2 buildings and the embassy is in Yeushalyim. Maybe it would have been better to switch the signs without an announcement and slowly let the world discover the fact it was and slowly get used to the idea. Even though the Arabs are only need an excuse to kill Jews, this is the perfect excuse for them.
3 Does the fact a non-Jew recognizes Yerushalayim is our capital make the fact a reality, where as the fact it is mentioned in Torah,Tanach and tefilot hundreds of times that this is our g-d given rightful inheritance ,mean nothing.
4. A side point, I’m sure Trump will receive lots of שכר from שמים in ny event on the fact he has said this.
