netanyahu rav lau[Video and photos below.] Today, the final day of Chol Hamoed, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu celebrated the bris of a grandson born one week ago to his daughter and son-in-law, Noa and Daniel Roth. This first grandchild of the prime minister was named Shmuel. The bris was held at a private home in the Katamon neighborhood of Yerushalayim with the participation of numerous dignitaries, including Rav Yisrael Meir Lau, who has a long personal relationship with Netanyahu and his family.

While the prime minister is not religious, his daughter, Noa, is a baalas teshuvah who returned to her roots some years ago and is raising her family al pi derech haTorah.

The sandek at the bris was the prime minister’s father, Professor Benzion Netanyahu, great-grandfather of the rach hanimol. Prime Minister Netnayahu was honored with amidah l’brachos/sandek me’umad.

The mohel was Rav Moshe Weisberg, a renowned and sought after mohel, who in fact performed several brisos earlier in the day before the Netanyahu simcha, including a bris in the bais medrash of Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv this morning.
