Britain’s Prince Charles is ready to reshape the monarch’s role when he becomes king and make “heartfelt interventions” in national life, in contrast to his mother Queen Elizabeth’s long tradition of discretion on public affairs, his allies tell The Guardian.
Sources close to the heir to the throne – already a controversial figure because of his alleged meddling in policy matters – say he will continue to express concerns and ask questions about issues that matter to him, such as the future of farming and the environment.
