Protests Return Against Karta Parking Lot

Dozens demonstrated in Yerushalayim today Saturday to protest the opening of the Karta parking lot on Shabbos. The protest occured on Rechov Shivtei Yisroel and no injuries were reported, though some reports claim there was some damage. Several garbage dumpsters were torched, but security forces deployed at the scene were able to keep the road open.

Hundreds of protestors have been rallying almost weekly in recent months to protest the chillul Shabbos.Last week, protestors demonstrated outside the Intel plant too in order to express their displeasure with the company being open and employing Jewish workers on Shabbos in violation of the law.
