Putin: Russia Will Respect Ukraine Vote

putin3Speaking today from St. Petersburg at an investment forum, Vladimir Putin declared that Russia will recognize the results of Ukraine’s presidential vote. He claimed that Russia wants peace and order in Ukraine, and therefor will “respect the choice of the Ukrainian people.” He also said, however, that he hopes whatever new leader Ukraine has will end military actions in east Ukraine.

Putin did direct some harsh language at Western powers, accusing them of supporting an “ant-constitutional coup d’etat” and that as a result Ukraine is in a “full-scale civil war.”

Given the recent back-and-forth over whether Putin actually kept his word about removing troops from the Ukraine borders, his promise should be taken with a grain of salt. Read more at Yahoo News.

  1. Of course Comrade Vlad will accept Ukraine’s vote. Especially since his lackeys there will see to it that the candidate he wants to win will win.

  2. This guy is a piece of work!!
    That he moved in and took Crimea from Ukraine is a-okay – that’s not an issue of concern!
    but that the west moved to protect the Ukrainians from tyrannical take-over by the Rooskies: that’s a da-da!

    Hey I don’t care at all that the Ukrainians were embarrassed and fooled; they deserve it all!
