dov-berish-englanderIt is with immense sadness that we report the tragic petirah of R’ Dov Berish Englander z”l, a beloved member of the Stamford Hill community of north London. He was 47.

R’ Dov Berish was in the sea off of Aberystwyth beach in Wales this morning, utilizing it as a mikvah, when he drowned, r”l. The Aberystwyth beach is approximately six hours from London.

R’ Dov Berish, who served as a rosh kollel of Kollel Machnovka in London, was renowned as a respected talmid chochom and baal chessed. His father, Reb Elish, who also lives in London, is a senior Machnovka chossid and supporter.

R’ Dov Berish is survived by eight children and was slated to celebrate the marriage of his third son next month.

Just two months ago, Rav Chaim Breisch zt”l of England passed away in a rough sea off Broadstairs, Kent.

  1. I am not a Jew but I was at the other end of the beach when Rabbi Englander was swept out to sea. I am deeply saddened by his death. How poignantly appropriate the Haftarah for today is: ‘All flesh is as grass. . .’

    this terrible tragedy what happened. In within 2 m

    months 2 such accidents of two such very special

    choshewe zadikim.
