srully-schorrIt is with great sadness that we report the passing of R’ Sruli Schorr z”l, a beloved friend of so many. R’ Sruly suffered a severe heart attack some weeks ago and experienced great complications.

Gatherings for his zechus were held in various mekomos haTorah in Brooklyn over the last few weeks. The name Chizkiyahu was added during his illness.

A talmid of Yeshiva Torah Vodaas, Sruli will be remembered for his heart of gold, his warm and caring personality, and for being a trusted chaver to so many people.

Yehi zichro boruch.

  1. The loss is too great to comment on
however those of us who were his friends will never forget him
    Too choked up for more

  2. Our hearts are broken and are eyes can’t stop crying! R’Sruly was a “real” chaver. His yidios Hatorah always amazed us. He always greeted everyone with a warm smile. He showed us the greatness of our past and present Gedolim. The loss has left his Chaverim with an irreplaceable void.
May his family have a true nechama. Yehi Zichron Baruch.

  3. I am so very saddened by his passing. I will never forget the laughs, the stories and his vision. We have lost a great man.

Let us remember Sruli through our stories, for I am sure we all have many.

  4. There are no words to describe the emotions felt. As I grew up Sruli was one of the closest family friends. There was always that electric smile that would light up the room. I will never forget how a month ago we ate together Friday night and the interaction you had with my son. To say you will be missed is simply an understatement. May you be a melitz yosher for your family and all klal yisroel.

  5. For those who were fortunate enough to know him we all saw his tremendous koaich and special personality. His friends were many and his loss leaves a tremendous void. friends and family are all crying tonight. Yehai zichro boruch.

  6. The schorrs were close with the sadigerer rebbe z”tl. The last thing the rebbe did before he was niftar was add the name chizkiyahu. He said they should come tell him the good news.

  7. Whenever I think about Sruli I can’t help but smileing , this was before his passing and
even more now . He was always so positve and
fun to be with . Rest in peace my friend .

  8. I am so sad to hear this news. Sruli was an amazing person. My thoughts are with his family. He was such a loyal and giving person with a huge personality. He will be greatly missed and I will personally remember all the guidance and support he gave me during the datek years. Most importantly I will remember all his stories and jokes.
My condolences to his family. RIP Sruli

  9. He did colossal works of chesed and nobody, not even his own family, knew….know this first hand! er zul aein a gita baiter…a site was created for stories about him… anyone know where?

  10. It’s been almost a week since Sruli’s passing. I have spent the past week trying to come to terms with this tragic loss and simply cannot. I think that I am still in shock. Sruli was larger than life and as “berger1” stated, he did an immense amount of chesed, in a very quiet, unassuming way. I, too, know this firsthand. If someone was in the midst of a crisis he would simply say “just tell me what you need” and proceeded to take care of the problem to the best of his ability – which really means he got things done because no one could dismiss his radiant smile and charming personality and were more than happy to accommodate him.
Sruli, you will be sorely missed but your legacy lives on in your beautiful children. May you be a Meilitz Yosher for your family and all of Klal Yisroel.
