[Photos below / Updated] It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rabbi Aaron Stefansky z”l. He was 51 years old.

Reb Aaron was a son of Rav and Rebbetzin Eliezer Stenfansky. His father, Rav Leizer, is a mashgiach at Beth Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, NJ.

Reb Aaron, a resident of Lakewood, NJ, was a noted machzik Torah, who supported numerous mekomos haTorah and mosdos hachinuch with great generosity.

His magnanimous nature connected him with many worthy causes, and Reb Aaron was always available to help and assist those in need, both on an individual level and at the klal level.

Likewise, the Stefansky home is a bais vaad lachachomim, thanks to the chesed of Reb Aaron and his wife, for whom every Torah cause was important.

Reb Aaron maintained an extremely close relationship with his rebbi, Rav Avrohom Yehoshua Soloveitchik, Rosh Yeshivas Brisk in Yerushalayim, and greatly assisted him in many ways, both public and private. Reb Aaron was likewise very close to Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman and Rav Chaim Kanievsky, amongst other leading gedolei Torah, roshei yeshiva and rabbonim.

Reb Aaron was struck by illness, which ravaged him, but did not sap his spirit, which remained vibrant as he dealt with the difficult machlah that ultimately claimed his life.

The family sent a message to Baba David Abuchatzeira on Thursday asking him to daven for Reb Aaron. He sent a message back to the family that he was going to kevorim of holy tzaddikim to daven for Reb Aaron. Baba David, who is know to be able to “see into people,” was strongly mechazeik Reb Aaron throughout his machlah, for he viewed Reb Aaron as a special Yid.

Last week, when told of Reb Aaron’s matzav, Rav Chaim Kanievsky advised to add a name.

Reb Aaron is survived by his parents, Rav Eliezer and Sora Stefansky; his devoted wife, Mrs. Chani Stefansky; their nine children; his siblings; as well as numerous relatives, friends and acquaintances mourning the loss of this most special person.

The levayah will be held tomorrow in Lakewood, NJ. Details will be posted once they are finalized.

Yehi zichro boruch.

Update: The levayah is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. at the Bendheim Bais Medrash at Beth Medrash Govoah, located at 617 6th Street in Lakewood, NJ. The aron will then be taken to JFK International Airport to be flown via El Al to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah on Har Hazeisim in Yerushalayim.

A special person sadly niftar at the young age of 51-the chapter in Tehillim of TESHUVA (Repentance)

YOU decide in your own gift from Hashem of free-will if you are ready as a nation to end this horrific time of non stop tragedies in k lal Yisroel
    by doing TESHUVA.

There’s no one to blame but ourselves for bringing this upon us R”L

May his neshama have an aliyah and may everyone have a wonderful Yom Tov

    • Seriously seek help! How dare you claim to search the innermost recesses of hashems intentions. People who claim to know why things happen seriously need to stop speaking for god. Its so self evidently childish. Seriously are you a prophet to accuse the whole nation? Seriously grow up and don’t demean the whole nation unless you somehow were blessed with nevua after 2500 years. Yeah i didnt think so!

  2. Am yisroel kedoshim!

SO sad and what a tzaddik and Baal Tzedakah he was

May we all agree to change our ways towards the righteous ways of teshuva so this never happens again

May the family be comforted among other mourners in k lal yisroel

  4. There is absolutely no basis in chazal for ahavas chinam its either not chinam rather a tzivui from hasem to love a fellow jew or its ossur to love as its says yiras hashem sinas ra
