candle-small4[Levaya info below.] It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rabbi Nota Koslowitz z”l, a longtime Lakewood resident, who passed away suddenly after suffering a heart attack. He was 60. Rabbi Koslowitz was a talmid of Rav Shneur Kotler zt”l at Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, NJ, and a fixture of the Lakewood kehillah for decades.

The petirah took place while Rabbi Koslowitz was in Tannersville, NY, where many rabbonim and bnei Torah spend the weeks of bein hazemanim.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Golda Koslowitz, and a mishpacha of bnei and bnos Torah.

Further information and levaya details will be posted as they become available.

Yehi zichro boruch.

Update: The levaya will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, at noon, at Beth Medrash Govoah, 617 Sixth Street, in Lakewood.

  1. What a shock! total shock! he was well known as a mashpia. He used to give weekly shiurim in many communities. A widespread shock and loss. May we be inspired by his life and passing

  2. When i told my wife the horible news, she said ‘what do you mean i don’t understand?” its a real shock and a loss to every jew!

  3. Why does your report have to mention that in Tannersville there are Bnei Torah who gather there? And if he wanted to get away from the city to relax – away from everyone, is there something wrong with that? Why do people feel they have to explain themselves to everybody? Because of shidduchim? Because of kavod? Enough of this nonsense already. Grow up!
