[Levaya update below.] It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rabbi Zvi Aaron ben Reb Chaim Yaakov Koff z”l. Originally from Monsey, NY, Rabbi Koff was a noted talmid chochom and mechanech who spent decades in the field of harbotzas haTorah and chinuch. Among his various roles, he formerly served as a rebbi and principal at HALB and at the Yeshiva Ketana of Long Island. Rabbi Koff also delivered a popular Daf Yomi shiur at Congregation Chizuk Hadaas in Flatbush.
With a sterling personality and impeccable character, Rabbi Koff served as the consummate role model for the many individuals who looked up to him. His passing is a painful blow to the Torah community and all who know him.
Rabbi Koff is survived by his wife and his wonderful children and family.
The levaya will take place tomorrow at Shomrei Hadas Chapels, located at 3803 14th Avenue in Boro Park, Brooklyn. The exact time has not yet been confirmed.
