It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing on Yom Kippur of Rabbi Uziel Tuvia Scheinin of the Zichron Moshe neighborhood of Yerushalayim. He was 89 years old.
A seventh-generation Yerushalmi, Reb Uziel Tuvia was born on 23 Kislev תרפ”ז to Rav Avrohom and Mrs. Rivka Scheinin.
He earned a living as a diamond polisher, but dedicated his life to limud haTorah and his children’s chinuch.
He is survived by doros of outstanding bnei Torah, including his sons, the illustrious Rav Gedaliah Scheinin, a renowned mechanech who serves as rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Keser Torah in Mattersdorf, and Rav Yitzchok Scheinin, gabbai of the legendary Eizikovitz shul in Bnei Brak.
The levayah was held last night at the Shamgar Funeral Home in Yerushalayim, followed by kevurah on Har Hamenuchos.
