rabbi-yehuda-schwab1[Levaya info below.] It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rabbi Yehuda Schwab zt”l of Monsey, who passed away on Shabbos following a protracted illness. He was approximately 60 years old.

Rabbi Schwab was a son of Rav Mordechai Schwab zt”l, well-known longtime mashgiach in Passaic and of Yeshiva Bais Shraga of Monsey.

Rav Yehuda was involved in many areas of tzorchei tzibbur, including JEP of Rockland County. Throughout his life, Rav Yehuda touched an untold number of people with his neimus, his genuinely positive nature, his selflessness and his sterling middos tovos. He was a shining role model to others in humility, chashivus haTorah, and seiver ponim yafos.

During his final illness, which spanned many years during the last period of his life, Rav Yehuda’s greatness shone forth, as he battled his difficult challenges with serenity and remarkable strength and dignity. He maintained his positive disposition even as the dreaded illness ravaged his body and made his every move painful. His gevurah and bitachon during his last years reflected the kochos hanefesh that he had developed for some five decades earlier. His passing leaves a giant void in the hearts of his wonderful family and his numerous friends, acquaintances and admirers.

Rav Yehuda was zocheh to raise, together with his dedicated wife, Mrs. Blimi Schwab, an upstanding family who carry on in his illustrious footsteps.

Rav Yehuda is survived by his wife, Mrs. Blimi Schwab; his mother, Rebbetzin Schwab; his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Gutman; his brothers and sisters; his children, Mrs. Chavie Levi, Mrs. Chani Moldavor, Mrs. Rochi Kugler, R’ Yitzy Schwab, Mrs. Esti Sturman, Mrs. Miriam Storch, Mrs. Shani Craven, Shirah Schwab and Bracha Schwab; and his grandchildren.

Update: The levaya will be held tomorrow, Sunday, at 11 a.m., at 2 Shalvah Place in Monsey, NY.
