Rav Aryeh Finkel to Begin Multi-Day Visit to US Today

rav-aryeh-finkelRav Aryeh Finkel, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Mir Brachfeld, will begin a three-day visit to the United States today, visiting various communities on the East Coast.

Tomorrow, Rav Aryeh will serve as the guest speaker at Beth Medrash Govoha of Lakewood’s Annual Evening of Chizuk.

Rav Aryeh’s host during his stay will be Reb Baruch Jeremias of Lakewood, NJ.

This morning, Rav Aryeh will attend a breakfast at the home of Yossi Ostreicher in Lawrence, New York. He will then visit mosdos in Far Rockaway. This evening, he will grace an asifa in Brooklyn.

Tomorrow, Rav Aryeh is scheduled to deliver a shmuess at Beth Medrash Govoha and address several other yeshivos in Lakewood. Wednesday evening, Rav Aryeh will address the Beth Medrash Govoha Annual Evening of Chizuk, which will take place at the corner of New Hampshire Avenue and Cedar Bridge Avenue in Lakewood. The kabbolas ponim will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 8 p.m. sharp.

Thursday morning, Rav Aryeh will attend a breakfast in Lakewood before heading back to Eretz Yisroel Thursday afternoon.

Rav Aryeh, who is a member of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah of Degel Hatorah, is a son of Rav Chaim Zev Finkel zt”l, founder of Yeshivas Heichal Hatorah in Tel Aviv and mashgiach at Yeshivas Mir in Yerushalayim. Rav Aryeh is a grandson of the Mirrer rosh yeshiva, Rav Leizer Yudel Finkel zt”l, and a cousin of the late rosh yeshiva, Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel zt”l.

In his youth, Rav Aryeh learned at Yeshivas Ponovezh in Bnei Brak. After his marriage to his wife, Rebbetzin Esther Gittel, a daughter of Rav Shmuel Aharon Yudelevich, he learned at Yeshivas Mir, where he was eventually appointed as a R”M in the yeshiva.

Rav Aryeh served in the position of mashgiach at Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim under the rosh yeshiva, Rav Chaim Shmulevitz zt”l, and over one decade ago assumed the position of rosh yeshiva in Brachfeld.

Rav Aryeh’s visit to the United States is a special occurrence, as the rosh yeshiva has never been to the US before.
