Rav Avraham Eliezer Kviat Appointed as Rov of Agudah of 18th Avenue

rav-dovid-kviatLast night, Agudas Yisroel-Snif Chofetz Chaim, otherwise known as Agudas Yisroel of 18th Avenue, in Boro Park, Brooklyn, formally named Rav Avraham Eliezer Kviat as the shul‘s new morah d’asra.

Rav Avraham Eliezer is the eldest son of Rav Dovid Kviat zt”l (seen in photo), who served as rov of the shul for over 35 years and was niftar at the age of 89 four months ago. In addition to leading the shul, Rav Dovid was a R”M in the Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn, a member of the nesius of Agudas Yisroel of America and the author of over 40 seforim, including his famous works titled Sukkas Dovid.

The hachtarah of Rav Avraham Eliezer was held at the shul, located on 18th Avenue, between 54th and 55th Streets.

The mispallelim of the shul look forward to further growth in ruchniyus, led by their new rov, who will follow in his father’s footsteps in guiding and inspiring the kehillah.
