rav-chaim-kanievsky[Links in article.] A new effort to prepare Yidden for the coming of Moshiach in time for Pesach 5770 has received the approval from gedolim. The project is aimed at having Yidden organized in chaburos, with animals inspected and ready to be used for the korban Pesach upon Moshiach‘s arrival prior to the Chag Hamatzos this year.

“We have to live with the reality of the geulah,” said an organizer. “We have to believe and act as if it is imminent. Preparing properly for the korban Pesach ahead of the upcoming chag is a part of this effort.”

korban-pesach-projectThe organization behind this effort, Keren Chofetz Chaim L’Moreshes Bais Hamikdosh, has released a booklet called “Tzipisa L’Yeshuah,” which contains the approbations of various gedolim, as well as detailed halachos of Korban Pesach, and a write-up about those who are devoting time to organizing and inspecting animals, and making sure they are blemish-free.

The booklet contains a form that can be filled out to be counted as part of a chaburah for the Korban Pesach.

Among the rabbonim who are said to have given their support to the effort are Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Rav Geshon Edelstein, Rav Shmuel Auerbach, Rav Zalman Nechemiah Goldberg, Rav Yitzchok Zilberstein, Rav Berel Povarsky, Rav Simcha Hakohen Kook, Rav Avigdor Nebenzal and Rav Asher Weiss.

Upon being shown and told about the program, Rav Chaim Kanievsky related to the organizers, “My father had a specific coat that he never wore, because he had prepared it for when Moshiach would come.” Rav Chaim wished the project organizers bracha and hatzlacha.

Its a crazy moment in history of mankind and klal yisroel

  3. No problem with the actual idea, but from this article it doesn’t seem that HARSKBH’G Chaim Kannievsky Shlit’a actually gace his haskomo. The article states,”Among the rabbonim who are said to have given their support to the effort are Rav Chaim Kanievsky”, but at the same time it also states,”Upon being shown and told about the program, Rav Chaim Kanievsky related to the organizers, “My father had a specific coat that he never wore, because he had prepared it for when Moshiach would come.” Rav Chaim wished the project organizers bracha and hatzlacha.” I would be hard pressed to call that a Haskama even with todays idea of a Haskama (unless this got a different, “Haskama”, besides this)

  4. It’s extremely important to be prepared for Mashiach! R’ Chaim’s story about his father is only one of many.

R’ Nosson Wachtfogel zt”l kept a packed bag for when Mashiach would come. I once heard from a talmud of his that one time, a bochur was beginning to learn how to blow a shofar, and he began practicing in a classroom. Suddenl, R’ Nosson came running, holding his bag, asking if it was the shofar of Mashiach that was blowing (I guess it was a sufficient time before Elul that he didn’t think it was practice for the time of year.)

The Chofetz Chaim zt”l used to learn the halachos of preparing and being makriv korbanos. He said that as a Kohen, when Mashiach came, he needed to be prepared to serve in the Beis Hamikdash.

  5. . Rav Ariel and the Temple Institute has been collecting and preparing yearly for the coming of Mashiach. Rav Nebenzal & Rav Kook shlita’s have been using the words geula & mashiach for some time already.
Our Yeshivish world is so afraid of talking coming the coming of Mashiach, either we sound too much like meshichitin,
geulah became tarnished decades ago when the group of Chovei Tzion was established. We threw out the baby with the bath water a long time ago on this issue.

  6. is there some losr who thinks up silly questions to ask the gedolei hador? i refuse to believe that people consistently ask such silly questions leading to silly articles.

  7. I know this is going to sound like a wild idea…but if you haven’t noticed, 90% of the Jewish people haven’t a clue about anything Jewish. In fact, a significant amount of Jews have a negative image of Judaism and frum Jews.

Anyone thinking about actually BRINGING moshiach by being mekarev these Jews??? Or are we just going to wait (albeit with great emunah!)

The last mishna is Sotah describes the generation before moshiach comes. R Chaim of Volozhin explains that lowest low that they will come to is “just waiting for Hashem to bring moshiach” – as opposed to bringing him ourselves!!!

Let’s go…what are we waiting for?! If we each mekarev’ed 10 Jews, moshiach WILL BE HERE!!!!

  8. Sorry fellas, if you want to prepare a korban pesach you’ll have to give up golus. That means coming to Israel and keeping one day yom tov. No more self righteous fakery, please.
