Rav Chaim Kanievsky’s Condition Improves

rav-chaim-kanievskyWhile Yidden around the globe davened for Maran Rav Chaim Kanievsky after he was hospitalized this week, doctors at Mayanei Hayeshua kept close watch of the gadol as Shabbos arrived.

As it turned out, on Friday afternoon, Rav Chaim’s condition had worsened considerably, but the family had kept that quiet so as not to worry the greater chareidi public. Initially, Rav Chaim was scheduled to return home for Shabbos following a battery of tests, but then news came that he would have to remain hospitalized. Rav Chaim was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit on Friday, but the hospital spokesman said that the move was merely to ensure that Rav Chaim could receive the best care.

On Shabbos, however, amazingly, Rav Chaim’s fever dropped and he experienced great improvement. Matzav.com learned that Rav Chaim even made his own Kiddush and sang zemiros Shabbos.

Over the course of Shabbos, tens of bnei Torah went to the Bnei Brak hospital, where they said Tehillim for the full recovery of Rav Shmaryahu Yosef Chaim ben Pesha Miriam.

Doctors at the hospital report that Rav Chaim is out of danger. When he will be able to return to his home on Rechov Rashbam, though, has still not been determined.
