It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rav Eizik Ausband zt”l, rosh yeshiva at Yeshivas Telshe-Cleveland in Wickliffe, Ohio.
Rav Ausband had been unwell for a while and talmidim and the greater olam haTorah had been davening for Rav Yitzchok Eizik ben Traina Rivkah. The rosh yeshiva was niftar a short while ago.
Rav Ausband was a son-in-law of the great rov and rosh yeshiva of Telshe in Lithuania, Rav Avrohom Yitzchok Bloch zt”l, one of the greatest pre-Holocaust gedolei Torah in Europe.
Rav Ausband’s wife, Rebbetzin Chaya Ausband, was one of three of Rav Bloch’s daughters to survive the Holocaust. (One married Rav Boruch Sorotzkin zt”l, later rosh yeshiva of Telshe.) Rebbetzin Ausband founded Yavneh Seminary in Cleveland and is a renowned and venerated mechaneches.
Rav Eizik is survived by his devoted rebbetzin, as well as his children, Rav Avrohom Ausband, rosh yeshiva of the Yeshiva of Telshe Alumni of Riverdale; Rav Eliyahu Ausband; Rav Eliezer Ausband, rebbi at Yeshiva Degel Hatorah of Monsey; Rav Chaim Mordechai Ausband, R”M at Yeshiva Kiryas Melech in Bnei Brak; Rebbetzin Goldberg, wife of Rav Dovid Goldberg, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Telshe-Cleveland; Rebbetzin Leah Burstzyn, wife of Rav Eliyahu Bursztyn, rov of Khal Ner Dovid and R”M at Mesivta of Lakewood; Rebbetzin Shapiro, wife of Rav Binyomin Shapiro; Rebbetzin Rassie Bresler, wife of Rav Moshe Bresler of Yerushalayim; and Rebbetzin Sori Finkel of Yerushalayim.
The levaya will take place tonight, at 10:00, at the Telshe Yeshiva, located at 28400 Euclid Avenue in Wickliffe, Ohio.
There will be a levaya Friday morning at 11:00 at the Yeshiva of Telshe Alumni of Riverdale.

The Rosh Yeshiva was an ois-ge-arbeted eish emes – always refining himself. I remember how even the heels of his shoes were worn evenly in the middle – for even the way his physical walking was examined and made yashar. His accuracy in tefila was not common knowledge, and he was greatly respected by by Reb Meir Zenitsky – the late dikduk teacher of the mechon l’mechanchim. His anivus was outstanding – in all my years in yeshiva- maybe once- did I ever hear him raise his pleasant melodic voice above a normal speaking level (The rosh yeshiva normally spoke in quiet – almost whisper like- voice. Even when we would hock the rosh yeshiva in shiur, he would pleasantly listen, repeat our point and consider what was said, before responding.
Oy davdin v’lo mistakchin! y’hi zichro baruch!

BDE, TO GILAD (#6) WHATS THE DIFFERENCE.
Please be mespalel by the aron for Chaim Yosef Meir ben Miriam Henya for a refuah shelaima b’karov!!
Baruch Dayan HaEmes!
Who could forgot the Rosh Yeshiva Zt”l’s Neeimus and Hadras Ponim he had for everyone in all of his Matzovim?
Who could forgot the tremendous Simchas HaTorah the Rosh Yeshiva had that would envelop the entire room when he gave shiur?
Who could forget the D’veykus BaTefillah the Rosh Yeshiva had as an humble Eved when he was Shofech Sicho L’fnei Melech Malchei HaMelochim?
Who could forget the Rosh Yeshiva’s Yom Kippur as he stood ENTIRE time at his Shtender davening and learning?
The Rosh Yeshiva had a very rough Tekufah these last few years and it should serve as a Kappora for the Dor.
HKB”H should continue to grant the Rebbitzin Tlit”a strength in this terrible loss. The Choshuveh Mishpacha and Talmidim are true Yesomim in this Ais Tzorah.

Besides all comments above, I would to add the chinuch and yedias Hatore the Rosh Yeshiva gave his children , they all knew the TANACH at very young age, and his son R. Chaim Mordechai , was im our shiur at the YESHIVA GUEDOLA at a very young age (about 12)with bochurim 18 years old!
The Rosh Yeshive should be a MELITZ YOSHER for all klal yisroel , VEYOMAR LETZOISEINU DAI !
