Rav Eliezer Ginsburg Heads to Eretz Yisroel

rav-eliezer-ginsburgRav Eliezer Ginsburg, rosh kollel of the Mirrer Yeshiva in Brooklyn, rov of Agudas Yisroel Snif Zichron Shmuel of Flatbush and rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Zichron Leyma of Linden, NJ, is heading to Eretz Yisroel for his annual summer visit there.

Rav Ginsburg’s arrival in Eretz Hakodesh is awaited eagerly by many who receive financial assistance from him during his stay. One of the purposes of Rav Ginsburg’s visit is to bring monetary support from generous American nedivim who provide money specifically for Rav Ginsburg to dispense to the less fortunate and the many Yidden in Eretz Yisroel who are struggling to make ends meet. Lines form at the door of the apartment where Rav Ginsburg stays, and “Rav Leizer,” as he is affectionately known, greets each person, imparts words of chizuk with his trademark smile and good cheer, and gives tzedakah to those in need.

One of the highlights of Rav Leizer’s annual visit is his attendance at the daily Gemara shiur of Maran Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv. Rav Leizer, who is the author of numerous seforim on Shas and other inyanim, including the seforim Nachalei Mayim, Ve’atah Berachamecha Horabim, Vayomer Lakotzrim, Shiras Yehudah and others, always livens up the shiur with his keen insights and he’aros, to the delight of the posek hador and the shiur attendees.

Rav Ginsburg’s stay in Yerushalayim this year will only be for two weeks, shorter than his regular month-long visit.

Rav Ginsburg is a son of Rav Efraim Mordechai Ginsburg zt”l, rosh yeshiva in the Mirrer Yeshiva, and a grandson of Rav Yechezkel Levenstein zt”l, famed mashgiach in the Mirrer and Ponovezh yeshivos.

May he have much Hatzlacha in Eretz Yisroel.

P.S. Correction. The Rov has been going to Eretz Yisroel for 2 week periods, for the last number of years.
