It is with great sadness that we report the petirah of the Gaavad of Melbourne, Rav Elimelech Ashkenazi zt”l. He was 96. The rov was niftar at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
In his youth, Rav Ashkenazi was a talmid of Rav Meir Shapiro zt”l, the Lubliner Rov, at Yeshiva Chachmei Lublin in Europe.
For the last period, Rav Ashkenazi resided in Sea Gate, Brooklyn.
Kevurah will take place in Yerushalayim following the levaya in Brooklyn.
Yehi zichro boruch.

HOW MUCH MORE CAN WE TAKE???
We have to Daven with more Kavonah with out our cell phone interrupting us.
Yidden all over the world are asked to PLEASE continue Davening reciting Tehillim learn Torah and contribute to Tzodakah as a Zechus for the famous Magid of the generation Harav Shlomo Brevda Shlita, who is in need of a Refuah Sheleimah. He asked that the Olam should please Daven for him, his condition is critical and painful.
The name for Tehillim is: Shlomo Leib ben Miriam
baruch dayan ha’emes
Rav Ashkenasi Z’l was Rav of the Addass Yisroel Community.
There is no Chief Rabbi in Melbourne.
Rv Tzvi Beck Shlita has held the same position for many years
I agree with the writer of commemt2 that we should daven with kavona with our cell phones turned off. But to attribute the passing of the Gaavad of Melbourne to our shortcomings seems, I my view, sadly misplaced.

A lot more. Settle down & buckle your seat belt!
