Rav Levi Hakohein Rabinowitz zt”l

levi-rabinowitz-2[Photos below.] It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rav Levi Hakohein Rabinowitz zt”l, one of the ziknei Yerushalayim and author of Madanei Hashulchan. Rav Rabinowitz, who had battled illness for the last while, was. 94 years old.

Rav Rabinowitz was admitted late last month to Hadassah Medical Center. Shortly after noon on Shabbos afternoon, he was niftar.

Rav Rabinowitz was a renowned gaon and talmid chochom, whose seforim were widely received and used across the world. His Torah acumen was matched by his humility. He greeted one and all with reverence, deflecting all honor to others.

Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv zt”l referred to him as “the Chofetz Chaim of the generation.”

Rav Rabinowitz is survived by an outstanding family, sons and daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren following in his ways.

The levaya was held at Botei Natan in Meah Shearim, followed by kevurah on Har Hamunchos.

Rav Rabinowitz was the father of Rav Gamliel Rabinowitz, noted mekubal, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Shaar Hashomayim, and renowned mashpiah.

Yehi zichro boruch.

The following are photos from the levaya:
