[Levaya info below.] It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rav Michel Small zt”l, rov of Cong. Po’alei Tzedek of Chicago, Illinois. He was 83. A talmid of Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l at Beth Medrash Govoha, Rav Small was a special man, a respected talmid chochom, who led his kehillah on West Albion Avenue in Chicago for many years. He passed away on Shabbos at the home of his daughter in Lakewood, NJ.

The levaya will take place tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at the Holocaust Memorial Chapel of Congregation Sons of Israel off of East Seventh Street in Lakewood, NJ. The levaya will then continue in Chicago, at 6 p.m., at Po’alei Tzedek, located at 2801 West Albion Avenue.

He was also a nephew of Hagaon Harav Moshe Feinstein, zt”l (his mother was Rav Moshe’s sister).

Rabbi Small was a true Ish Chesed a Tzaddik in the truest sense, he will be sorely missed. He walked in the ways of his great Father z”l
My Shver has been Davening in Rabbi Small’s Shul since ’57. For a while his Father Z”l was there as well his Father was my Mesader Kidushin truly an amazing Yid with an amzing Family.

He was a great kind man,a true tzadik and ben torah.He was like part of our family.I remember his father also when i was a child in the shul.He will truly be missed sad and shocking.
