The annual asifah for Keren Birchas Shmuel L’Hachzokas Bnei Torah, which assists bnei Torah in Eretz Yisroel, will be held tonight at Bais Faiga Hall in Lakewood, NJ. Divrei hisorerus in advance of the Yom Hadin will be delivered via live video hookup by Rav Michel Yehudah Lefkowitz from Beni Brak.
Keren L’Hachzokas Bnei Torah, founded seven years ago by Rav Dovid Schustal, rosh yeshiva of Bais Medrash Govoah, distributes monetary assistance to thousands of yungeleit in Eretz Yisroel before Yom Tov. Since its inception, the Keren has distributed tens of thousands of checks totaling millions of dollars.
The Keren is named l’zecher nishmas Rav Shmuel Berenbaum zt”l, the Mirrer rosh yeshiva, who played an active role in the Keren. The asifa will begin with Maariv at 10 p.m.
