Rav Noson Boruch Herzka zt”l

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Noson Boruch Herzka zt”l, who was niftar on Shabbos Chanukah. He was 67 years old.

Rav Herzka was a noted talmid chochom, marbitz Torah and rov who served as the mara d’asra of the Pine River Shul in Lakewood, NJ.

He was one of five children of Ernest and Esther Herzka z”l.

Over the years, Rav Herzka served as a R”M at Yeshiva Rabbeinu Yaakov Yosef of Edison, led the Yeshiva of Pelham Parkway, and more recently served as rosh kollel at Bais Medrash L’Torah of Lakewood.

Rav Herzka was a son-in-law of the Telshe rosh yeshiva, Rav Refoel Boruch Sorotzkin zt”l.

Rav Herzka battled illness for the last several months.

He is survived by his devoted rebbetzin, Mrs. Shoshana Herzka, noted mechaneches at Bais Yaakov D’Rav Meir; his siblings, Rav Yissochor Herzka, Mr. Ralph Herzka, Mrs. Hindy Stein and Mrs. Kendy Anemer; and his wonderful family of children and grandchildren following in his ways.

The levayah will be held Sunday morning at 10:30 at the Pine River Shul, located at 501 River Avenue in Lakewood, with parking across the street at 500 River Avenue. A crossing guard will be stationed to assist participants. Kevurah will follow at the bais hachaim off of East Seventh Street in Lakewood.
