  1. He proabably said it in a shiur, its not much of a chidush yet it probably pertained to the topic he discussed. – What a Tzadik yesod olam.

  2. There is no surprise here. This is the normative Orthodox stand on Conservative Judaism. Coming from a Conservative background, I know what mistakes Conservatives make. The important thing to remember, though, is that the Conservative Jews we know are third generation at least. They honestly believe that what they are practicing is acceptable as Judaism, and many of them identify strongly as Jews. It is wrong to look down on them – they are true tinokos shenishba. The best approach is “Yes, you’re sincere – and there’s so much more you could be doing. Come to my house for Shabbos and see.”

That’s how I became frum, thanks to a lovely lady whom I met in a bookstore in Yerushalayim.

  3. This is an important declaration. Shas has joined the World Zionist Organization. Accordingly, it must clearly state that the other members of WIZO are NOT authentic Jewish Movements. I applaud Rav Yosef Shlita for publicly stating this. What is obvious to an American Yid is not clear to Israeli Yidden.
