Following a recent statement of Labor Party leader Avi Gabai that members of his party forgot what it means to be to Jews, MK Yosi Yonah of the Labor Party called the religious Kol Beramah radio station to inform the public that he has a portrait of Rav Ovadiah Yosef hanging on the wall of his Knesset office.
“I must stress the obvious,” he said. “We are Jews with a tradition. I may not be religious but I’m happy to be connected to Judaism.”

As the joke goes, I’d be happier if Rav Ovadiah were in the Kenesset and the MK’s picture was on the wall.
Fitting remark. May the secular hear.
